History of Beat For Peace
Established in 1999 at Starlight Cove Community
Title I Elementary School, Beat for Peace is a music-based intervention built out of the collaborative efforts of Michael
Kane, School Counselor and Paul Corbière, Music Teacher. Paul Corbière is now located in Coralville, Iowa.
He teaches general music in Columbus Junction,
Iowa, at Roundy Elementary, where, with the help of guidance counselor Kara O'Donnell, the program has been established
as Beat For Peace Iowa. Beat For Peace Iowa is
an extension of the original Beat For Peace program.
"BFPI" is in its 4th year at Roundy Elementary.
